Pine Island is 45 minutes from Southwest Florida International Airport . That airport is serviced by many airlines, among them: Jet Blue, American Airlines, Air Canadal, United, US Air, Delta, Spirit and Southwest. There are also a number of car rental companies: Avis, Alamo , Enterprise, Hertz, National, Thrifty, Budget and Dollar.

The airport has direct connections to major hubs including New York (JFK and Newark ) Chicago O’Hare, Atlanta, Dallas Ft. Worth, Cincinnati , Boston , Baltimore , Philadelphia , Washington , Minneapolis and Detroit .

For international fights, a connection through New York (JFK) with Jet Blue usually offers the cheapest price and most frequent availability (as well as leather chairs, extra legroom and DirectTV in every seat.)

Saint James city is about an hour from the airport by taxi. Pineislandtaxi.com offer taxis, vans and limos for the journey and take bookings on-line. They’ll also stop for you to pick up groceries which you can order and have waiting by faxing Publix in advance of your arrival (details on the Pine Island Taxi site).

Pine Island is approvimately 30 minutes from Interstate Highway 75 which is the main route along west Florida and also to the Miami area. It is about a 3 hour trip by car from Miami, about 3.5 hours from Orlando and about 2 hours from the Tampa/St. Petersburg area. Please use the Map page for specific driving directions.
